Unlike the EN 10255 standard (which is for fluid transport), EN 10219 is strictly a structural standard. It covers circular, square, and rectangular sections used in construction, bridge building, and general mechanical frameworks where load-bearing capacity and strength-to-weight ratios are the priority.

EN 10219: Structural Performance

The standard is divided into two parts: Part 1 for technical delivery conditions (mechanical properties) and Part 2 for tolerances, dimensions, and sectional properties.

• Grades: Common grades include S235JRH, S275J0H, and S355J2H. The "S" stands for structural, the number represents the minimum yield strength ($MPa$), and the "H" denotes a hollow section.

• Manufacturing: These sections are formed cold and then welded (usually ERW). Because they are cold-formed, they possess high surface quality and tight dimensional tolerances, making them perfect for modern architectural designs.
